Tinnitus

Tinnitus is a condition that affects many people, including actors and musicians. It is a noise perceived in one or both ears in the absence of an external sound source, generally they are hums, beeps or noises that are heard temporarily or chronically.

Here I present some important information:

  • Tinnitus affects approximately 10-15% of the general population.
  • In some industries, such as the music industry, it is much more common. Many studies show that 40-50% of musicians experience at least some degree of tinnitus, due to prolonged exposure to noise without hearing protection. It is a condition that to date has no cure, there are people who live with multiple therapies to dissipate this noise in their ear.
